2000 AIA NEVADA SERVICE and DESIGN AWARDS

The type and number of awards given was determined by the jury, and include Honor Award, Merit Award & Citation Award (Honor being the most distinguished). The categories in which awards were given were as follows: Built, Unbuilt, and Student Projects.
The jurors were Danelle Guthrie, Mark Reddington, Sandy Miller and Kristen Woosley.

The AIA Las Vegas Service Awards are presented yearly to the individuals and organizations whose efforts and contributions benefit the community and further the profession.
  • The Kali::Juba Lecture Series, sponsored by Klai::Juba Architects, was selected to receive the AIA Nevada Patron Award.
  • The Young Architect Citation, which is presented to the new architect who at an early stage in their career show exceptional leadership in design, education, and service to the profession, was presented to Angela Bigotti, AIA.
  • Michael L. Crowe, AIA of Tate and Snyder Architects, and Edward A. Vance, AIA of JMA Architecture Studios, were recipients of the Nevada Service Award, presented for outstanding service to the community.
  • The Firm Award went to KGA Architecture Inc. and recognizes the firm for consistently producing distinguished architecture for a period of ten years, and for their service to the profession and to the community.
  • The Silver Medal, the highest honor that the Nevada AIA can bestow, was presented to Ralph Casazza, AIA of Casazza, Peetz & Associates.
  • Gloria Armandariz was presented a Special Recognition Award for her 23 years of service as Executive Director of the Nevada Board of Architecture, Interior Design and Residential Design.
