This database contains over 1.5 million entries, providing citations to North
American and European dissertations from 1861 forward, with abstracts from 1980
forward. It also provides citations and abstracts for theses from 1988 forward.
Titles published since 1997 are usually available in PDF full text digital format
and have 24 page previews. Titles that are not available full text may be requested
through Document Delivery. Full-text of UNLV theses and dissertations are available from
1996 to the present. For paper copy UNLV theses and dissertations, please consult
staff in Lied Library Special Collections Department on third floor.

Select Book Review Digest Plus from the banner at the top of the page. To be
indexed, a book must have been published or distributed in the United States
or Canada. A work of nonfiction must have received reviews in two or more of
the periodicals on the Book Review Digest selection list. A work of fiction
must have received reviews in at least three of the periodicals. Reviews of
textbooks, government publications, and technical books in law and the sciences
are excluded. It indexes 109 principal book-review-containing periodicals, including
major newspapers and general-interest magazines, as well as book review journals
like Booklist, Choice, and Kirkus.

If you have books, dissertations, journal articles, etc. that are not available
at UNLV Libraries, you can request these items through Document Delivery. It
may take several weeks to get items so please allow enough time with your research
needs to accommodate the time lag. Follow the instructions for requesting a
book, journal or other material. Remember to fill in the cancel if not filled
by date box. This lets the personnel in Document Delivery know your deadline
for getting the material. Be sure to fill in your name and barcode and they
will contact you when your material is received.
