TitleFriends from the Other Side
PublisherChildren's Book Press
Illustrator(s)Mendez Consuelo
SummaryThis is a great story on how the Mexicans had to come to America and some of the things they have to face such as hiding from the Border Patrol. I don't know how old the characters were, however, it's a shame that young children have to be concerned with things such as poverty and name calling. I read this to my grandchildren and they asked many questions. Sometimes our children are very sheltered and don't understand what others have to do. Wonderful book!!!
