The Media Lab provides all current UNLV students, staff and faculty with an environment to create multimedia presentations for class use. In addition to the standard software found on all library computers, the Lab includes hardware and software to convert analog audio & video to digital audio & video; perform basic editing of digital audio and advanced editing of digital video; and scan documents, negatives and slides.
The Lab is primarily a self-service facility. In-depth assistance is available by appointment. Priority is given to academic and curriculum-based projects related to a UNLV teaching & learning experience. Personal projects are given secondary priority, and only minimal staff assistance.
Many multimedia projects can be done on regular University Libraries computers, and do not need to be done in the Media Lab. Check the library computer hardware & software page to see what is available on our computers.
The Media Lab is in room 1201 on the first floor of Lied Library.
Appointments are required for those users requiring assistance. Appointments are generally available 10 am to 5 pm Monday—Friday. Evenings and weekends are self-service. Please fill out this form or call (702) 895-2161 to make an appointment.
