INTRODUCTION
The Media Lab features specialized hardware and software for all current UNLV students, staff, and faculty to use on their multimedia projects and presentations.
Using Media Lab equipment you can capture and edit audio and video on the computer, dub VHS video to DVD, convert cassette tapes or LP records to MP3 or CD, scan large-format documents up to 11” x 17”, and perform various other multimedia tasks. Hardware and software details can be seen at the library computer and software page.
Assistance is generally available Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm. Walk-ins and personal projects are welcome. Priority is given to University-related, academic work.
LOCATION
The Media Lab is located on the first floor of Lied Library in the northwest corner of the building, room 1201.
HOURS
The Media Lab is open during regular library hours, however the door may be locked when staff is unavailable. To access the lab during these times contact the Media Resources Desk. Staff will unlock the door and log you in to a computer.
APPOINTMENTS & CONTACT
Appointments are recommended for patrons requiring in-depth assistance and can be made in-person at the lab, online, or over the phone at (702) 895-2128. Appointments are generally available from 9:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday. Evenings and weekends are self-service only.
