Hansel and Gretel
Hansel and Gretel is a German fairy tale written in the early 1800s. Since its release, different librettos have been written to turn the classic story into an opera. Engelbert Humperdinck, a popular composer from the late 1800s, wrote the original libretto, which gave birth to the fairytale opera. The plot involves a poor mother who sends her son and daughter into the woods in search for berries, ignorant to the dangers that lurk in the forest. Watch a modern twist on the classic German opera.
