Ways we can support you and your students
Librarians can partner with you in several ways, including:
- Providing research help to your students
- Holding "office hours" in your online course
- Participating in a research discussion thread in WebCampus
- Conducting virtual or in-person library instruction sessions
- Creating customized research guides
- Assisting with research assignment design
- Identifying course materials available through the Libraries
Adding a librarian to your WebCampus course
The Librarian role in WebCampus allows instructors to add librarians to their courses in a dedicated capacity. To support student privacy, those assigned the Librarian role cannot access grade data.
Instructions
- Go to the People page in the course navigation menu for the course in which you would like to add your librarian.
- Click on the + People button in the top-right corner of the page.
- Enter the email address for the librarian you would like to add to your course.
- Use the dropdown menu to change the Role to Librarian.
- Click on the Next button.
- WebCampus will verify the email address. When you receive a dialogue box reading “The following users are ready to be added to the course,” click the Add Users button.
- The librarian should receive an email letting them know that you have added them to your course. Once they sign into WebCampus and accept your invitation, you are ready to go!
