1. What do I need to check out a laptop?
   You'll need your valid UNLV RebelCard that has been registered with the University Libraries, and a clear record (no fines, overdues, etc.)
2. Who can check out a laptop?
   UNLV students, faculty, or staff. We do not check out laptops to community users.
3. Where can I check out a laptop?
   At the Media Resources Service Desk on the first floor of Lied Library.
4. How long do I get the laptop?
   Up to four hours depending on when you check it out. There is a $20 late charge per hour or portion of an hour the laptop is late.
5. Can I renew?
   No.
6. When can I check out a laptop?
   Mon-Thursday.......8:30 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Last checkout at 9:00 p.m.
   Friday...................8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Last checkout at 4:00 p.m.
   Saturday..............9:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Last checkout at 3:00 p.m.
   Sunday .................11:30 a.m.-11:00 p.m. Last checkout at 9:00 p.m.
   (Hours of checkout are subject to change depending on Library hours.)
7. Where can I use laptops?
   Our laptops are wireless; they can be used anywhere in the library.
8. What if the laptop is damaged or stolen while I have it checked out?
   While the laptop is checked out to you, it is your responsibility. You can be charged for any repair or replacement costs up to and including the full replacement cost of the laptop.
9. What hardware is available with the laptops?
   The laptops are Dell Inspiron 610Ds with Pentium M processor, and a CDRW/DVD drive. The laptops check out with a power cord, optical mouse, a set of headphones, and a carrying case.
10. What software is available on the laptops?
    The laptops run Windows XP and include:
    • Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox
    • Office 2003 suite (PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
    • Adobe (Acrobat 8, Dreamweaver CS3, Illustrator CS3, Photoshop CS3)
    • WS FTP
11. What other equipment and accessories are available for checkout with a laptop?
    For use with our laptops, we offer:
    
    • 2 projectors
    • 4 external zip drives
    • 2 external floppy drives
    • 2 memory card readers
