UNLV Libraries supports academic freedom in teaching and research and the right of freedom of speech for faculty, staff and students in accordance with the following mandates:
Nothing in this policy limits or removes the right of free speech or the academic freedom of faculty, staff, and students engaged in the learning process, nor relaxes their responsibilities as members of the NSHE community. The guidelines seek to achieve objectives necessary for the legitimate and proper use of computing resources. It is intended that these ends should be achieved in ways that maximally respect the legitimate interests and rights of all NSHE users. In accordance with NSHE policy, the UNLV Libraries acknowledges its responsibilities to respect and advance free academic inquiry, free expression, reasonable expectations of privacy, due process, equal protection of the law, and legitimate claims of ownership of intellectual property.
Community reviews allow patrons to publicly express opinions about library resources. Patrons are asked to review guidelines prior to submitting a community review. The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Libraries reserves the right to edit or delete reviews.
GuidelinesSocial Tagging allows patrons to add search terms (tags) they feel are useful in locating a specific item.
